The deal between you and Filed, in plain English. Last updated 6 October 2026.
Filed is a service for capturing receipts, reading their details with AI, checking them and keeping them in an archive you can search, export and (when available) sync to your accounting software. By creating an account you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy.
Use Filed for your own business records. Don't upload things that aren't yours to upload, don't try to break in, and don't run scripts against it. To protect the AI reading service from runaway use there is a daily reading limit on every plan that no normal business will ever reach.
Everything you upload stays yours. You give us permission to store it, send it to the AI reading service, and show it back to you, which is the service. You can export all of it as a spreadsheet at any time and delete it at any time.
The AI reads receipts well, but not perfectly, which is why every receipt shows you the picture beside the fields before it's filed. You are responsible for checking what's filed. Filed isn't an accountant, a tax agent or a substitute for one: nothing in the app is tax advice, and the GST treatment and categories it suggests are suggestions. Check anything you're unsure about with your accountant or the ATO.
We work hard to keep Filed available and your data safe, and we back it up regularly, but we can't promise it will never be down or never lose anything. Keep exporting your records if they're critical to you. To the extent the law allows, Filed is provided as is, and our liability to you is limited to what you've paid us in the three months before a problem. Nothing here removes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
You can delete your account whenever you like from the account menu, and everything goes with it. We can close accounts that break these terms, and we'll give you a chance to export your records first unless the breach is serious.
If these terms change in a way that matters we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect. These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
